Obituary of Louis Leon Banka

Louis L. Banka, Jr., a longtime resident of Monterey died peacefully at his home on November 5, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Louis was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 13, 1951 and came to Monterey with his family in March of 1952 where his father, Louis L. Banka, Sr., attended the Defense Language Institute. He attended San Carlos Grammar School and graduated from Junipero Memorial High School. He went on to attend Monterey Peninsula College and San Jose State University. Louis loved baseball, playing golf and going to the beach. Louis worked for Cal-Am Water Company for 25 years. He is survived by his mother, Carmen and his sister, Josephine. Mass will be held on November 19, 2015 at 9:30 am at San Carlos Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to San Carlos Cathedral in Louis' memory.
