Obituary of Zola Francine Carver

Zola (Be) Carver died on November 14, 2015 in Monterey, Ca. The self-proclaimed Bon Vivant was born in Oakland, Ca on the 22nd of Oct. 1925 to Augstin Areitio and Frances (Marion) Areitio. She married Grover Carver on Nov. 9, 1944 and remained so until his passing in 2008. Be enjoyed fine string instruments like the mandolin, harp, cello and especially 12 string Portuguese Fado, but no electric instruments. She also appreciated fine arts and beautiful scenery. The happiest years of her life were the 17 years in Carmel Valley. Many years were spent in Volunteer activities of many kinds including the Red Cross. She was active in various clubs and organizations as well. Be is survived by 2 daughters, Nadine Furtado Luevano and Victoria Paynter; and 5 grandchildren, Gary Furtado, Darrin Furtado, Tony Furtado, Chris Paynter and April Paynter. She also leaves behind 9 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Services and burial will be Friday, Nov. 20th at Mission Memorial Park & Seaside Funeral Home, 1915 Ord Grove Ave., beginning with a visitation from 10am-12pm, funeral service at 12pm followed by burial.
