Obituary of Maria Reyes Totaan

Maria Reyes Totaan passed away on September 22, 2015 at age 93. She was born in Candon, Ilocus Sur, Philippines to Alejandro and Juana Reyes. She was raised in Baguio City. She had lived in Manila; Bautista, Pangasinan and Rosario, La Union. She came to California in 1959 with her family to join her husband. Maria worked as a seamstress for Brad & Whitney in Monterey for over 20 years. She was a then a home maker and full-time caretaker for her husband for the next four hears. Maria enjoyed taking trips to Reno, playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid church goer and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a lifetime member of the Fil-Am Club in Marina. Maria was preceded in death by her husband , Pedro Totaan, on December 30, 1987. They had been married since January of 1943. She is survived by her children and spouses: Elizabeth (late husband Pru) Aguas, Lourdes and (late husband Carlos) Solla, Rita (Alvin) Pangelinan, Pete (Karen) Totaan, and Tessie (King) Hunt; 12 grandchildren: Christine Solla Corral, Robert Aguas, Catherine Solla Decatur, Al Pangelinan, Charles Solla, Peter Totaan, Vanessa Hunt Liby, Melissa Hunt Fisher, Carlos Solla, Jr, Joshua Solla, Stephanie Totaan, and Jessica Totaan; and 17 great-grandchildren: Caitlin Esteban, Cameron Esteban, Ethan Pangelinan, Rianne Aguas, Calise Solla, Chloe Solla, Carlos Solla II, Carlos Solla III, Christian Solla, Asia Pangelinan, Savannah Totaan, Justice Pangelinan, Cairo Decatur, Cecilia Corral, Gracie Fisher, Mia Fisher, and Emmie Fisher; and her last surviving sister, Jesusa Reyes Farinas. A visitation will take place on Sun. Sept. 27th from 10am-8pm with a Rosary being said at 6pm at Seaside Funeral Home at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Ave. in Seaside. A Funeral Mass will be Mon. Sept. 28th at 11am at St. Francis Church, 1475 La Salle Ave. in Seaside, followed by burial at Mission Memorial Park.
