Obituary of Fred O. Scott

Fred was born to Mr. William Scott and Mrs. Freddie Mae Craig in Tuscaloosa, AL. He is survived by siblings William Jr. (Leatrice), Dorothy, Velma, Imogene, Gwen, Sheralyn, Al, Walter, son Desmond, grandson Desmond Jr., Gloria Norton-White and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Wendell. After graduating from Druid High School, Fred enlisted in the United States Army. He enjoyed tours in Europe as well as stateside assignments and received many awards throughout his career. His last assignment brought him to Fort Ord, where he decided to stay after leaving the military. Fred was employed by and recently retired from the Pebble Beach Company, where he spent 25 years continuing to receive awards and recognition for outstanding work. Fred was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved to work on and race cars; he also loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. Fred was a big man with a bigger heart, and he will be missed. Services will be held Thursday, 3 Dec 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, 160 Seaside Court, Marina, CA at 10am.
