Obituary of Wesley Ronald Morrison

Wesley Ronald Morrison of Marina, California passed away on June 2nd at the age of 92. Wes passed away surrounded by his loving family after a long and great life. Wes grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. He was an avid athlete and loved his sports. Especially Hockey and Football. After high school he joined the Army and fought in the Korean War and two tours in the Vietnam War. He was extremely proud to have served over 28 years in the military. While stationed in Japan he met the love of his life Shizuko “Shirley” Nakamura. They married in 1955 and had a loving marriage for 68 years. They had two sons, Kenn and Bob. Wes loved to travel cross country and stopped at all of America’s most historic sites. His favorite was the Old West. He enjoyed reading books about war history and the days of Cowboys. He loved to go camping and fishing, but his one dear hobby was building Tyco Train displays for his sons and grandkids. He would turn his storage shed into a toy train station for enjoyment and just take pleasure in watching them go around the track. He enjoyed youth baseball. One of his greatest memories was working in the Pony Bronco World Series each year as a security guard. You could always catch him by the 1st base dugout. He enjoyed taking weekend trips watching his grandson's baseball tournaments. He was proud of his granddaughter’s cheerleading and “smarts” of the family, as he called it. Wes is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Kenn Morrison (Joyce), Robert Morrison (Dani), and grandchildren, Connor Morrison (Victoria), Cassidy Esposo (Jordan), Cole Morrison (Chelsea), Sky Kitaoka and great grandson Kyler Esposo, his younger sister, Joan Scott. Wes was predeceased by his mother and father Wesley and Kathryn Morrison, also his brothers, Curley, Bruce, and Clark. A private Military Funeral will take place on June 30th.
