Obituary of Christopher Dean Fitts

We all celebrate the journey and life of CHRISTOPHER DEAN FITTS who completed the journey and departed life too soon on September 13, 2023 in the City of Marina, California.

Christopher took breath into this world November 21, 1964 at the US Army hospital at Fort Rucker Alabama and was one of five children of the late Marian Iris (Smith) (Fitts) Venoy and Joseph Fitts.

Christopher’s early childhood life and middle education took place in several cities within the United States and the countries of Japan and Germany as his father continued his military career always including the family with Christopher being the youngest of the children.

When Christopher came to California in grade school, he took a passion in ice skating and often visited the local skating rink where he self-taught himself to skate. He often displayed his talent in front of family members and friends and was known in the community as an accomplished Ice Skater.

When Christopher’s older siblings went off to college and other cities, he remained with his Mother until he lost her during his mid-adult years. Christopher’s older brother, Joseph, Jr., also remained in the local area where the family had lived after his Father left the military.

Joey and Christopher stayed connected and would travel together to their Father’s residents in San Diego for social events and to visit his Sisters, Sherrie, Valencia and Brother Gregory who lived near their Father.

Christopher loved to attend sports activities, especially when his parents and siblings were participants. He often traveled with his siblings to his Father’s high school reunions.

Before Christopher lost his mother, he also lost his second brother, Gregory who had spent four years in the U.S. Navy who would often meet up with Christopher at family gatherings.

During Christopher’s residency in the Monterey County area he became acquainted with old school friends and one particular friend was a girl named Charlette, who they considered themselves brother and sister and they remained close friends until his last breath.

From an early age, Christopher always looked forward to meeting new friends and experiencing the wonders of the world in the schools setting and always maintained connections with his school mates upon his journey throughout the years.
